IJM Meeting
Wow, I am blogging like twice in one week! This trend is awesome. Anyways, I am on staff at one of the clubs at my school known as the College Chapter of International Justice Ministries. We had a club meeting on Tuesday in which we had a Law Professor and two of her students come speak about their experiences with IJM.
The professor had not had a lot of firsthand experience overseas, but she definitely supports the organization financially. The two students each had different experiences to share. One of the girls spent time in Uganda working as a law clerk and writing opinions which would influence the judges opinions on different court cases. The other girl spent extensive time in Uganda (often on her own) building relationships with people and seeking to provide stability in the lives of former child soldiers.
While those experiences were phenomenal and life changing, a theme started to become apparent in all three of the speakers presentations. People need to be a voice to bring justice to those who don't have a voice but that doesn't always necessarily mean overseas. We can all do justice right here where we live. We can seek out hurting people and have compassion on them. We can love those who are "unlovable." We can seek justice for foster children who are bumped from house to house with no one truly loving them by showing them love. There are many ways to bring justice and not all of them involve going overseas. So what are we waiting for?

Back to Planet Earth
Ok, so I realize that it has been a few weeks since I have updated my blog and for that I apologize. I have gotten sucked into the busyness of college classes and working but I have found some spare moments! HOORAY!!
So, basically a lot has happened. One of the most exciting things that happened was going to see a showing of Pirates of the Caribbean with a LIVE ORCHESTRA playing the soundtrack. Let me just say. A-MAZ-ING!!!! Wow. So much fun!!! Half of the time, you would actually forget that there was a live orchestra playing because the orchestra was so perfect it sounded EXACTLY like the soundtrack!!
My campus also has an event known as "Gotcha" that they play every year. Basically, you pay $2 and sign up. You get a ball and a name in your mailbox. Whoever's name you get, you have to hunt them down, tag them with the ball and say "GOTCHA!" Simple right? Think again. Not only are you being hunted down by someone else, but there are ridiculous safety's that people can do which makes them immune from being tagged. Such examples are: pretending to drive a racecar, pretending to swim or touching a tree. That last one was hilarious. People were walking around with mini-trees all over campus. And once you tagged the person who's name you had, you got the name they had plus all of the names of people they had tagged out. It gets quite complicated. I am proud that one of the girls in my dorm won.
In other news, I have not been feeling well. So much that today, I actually got confused and thought my boyfriend was out of state (instead of just 5 minutes away) and called him just to say hi. Yes, my delirium has begun. Oh my. Have fun with that everybody...
Oh wait, one more thing! I absolutely adore the children I babysit. They make my heart happy. Ok. Now that is all =).
