I can't believe its almost the end of summer. In just a few weeks, school is going to start again. Am I ready? NO!!!! Don't leave me summer!!!!! This summer has been full of adventures. Making relationships with old friends stronger, making new friends and just finding crazy things to occupy my time. I think I have definitely learned about God's faithfulness this summer as well. He has always provided for me. And I thought I would be independent once I moved out. Funny how I think I know everything. Not really. I probably actually don't know that much about anything. Anyways, point being that God takes care of me.
So back to summer. Definitely hit up the beach a couple of times. I used to hate the beach for three reasons: sun, sand, and sickos. For whatever reason when I was younger I would always get horribly burnt, completely filthy and miserable and covered with sand and hit on by some weirdo. But this summer I didn't have problems with any of those. Sun - wear sunscreen. Ha, and everyone laughed at me when I bought 75 SPF. Who's laughing now? Not a single burn!!!! Sand - bring shampoo and conditioner to the beach. Come to think of it, everyone laughed at me about that too. Yet, it was refreshing to be able to shampoo and condition in the rinse-off showers outside the beach bathrooms. I got the strangest looks from everyone though. It's like I was auditioning for a Pantene commercial, only there were no cameras. Sigh. And I always thought that I was born to be on camera...Although I suppose I AM on camera. I do have pictures of shampooing and conditioning my hair at the beach. As for the sickos, I didn't get hit on a single time at the beach. Probably because I gained weight ;) just kidding. It's probably just because I keep myself with friends. Orrrrrrrrr it could have been that everyone was just too freaked out by the crazy girl who's washing her hair at the beach.
Another fun summer activity was going to the park. It's so relaxing to just take your lunch and sit at a picnic table and talk with someone. You don't have to be cooped up indoors and its a great way to build a relationship. Well until after it gets dark. I'm pretty sure that the parks close at night and the police will say something to you if you don't leave. Although...it would be pretty funny to sleep on a park bench and have the cops come and shine a light in my eyes like I always see on those movies except that I don't think getting fined and/or arrested would be all that much fun.
I also discovered that I was a fan of live orchestra's this summer. I went and listened to a live orchestra play on the 4th of July and then got to watch a fantastic fireworks show afterwards. AMAZING!!!!! Sign me up to do it again - oh wait, I already bought tickets to do it again. PROOF that I really liked it!!!
Babysitting - another fun summer activity. I have gotten to know three precious little boys. I am sure it's been quite an adventure for them as well. I may be a girl and I may be super girly but I can wrestle with the best of them. In fact, I'm sure that I could compete as a pro-wrestler. Actually not really, if I ever did something like that it would only be for the sponsorships. Who would sponsor me to be a pro-wrestler you might ask? That's easy. Who wouldn't pay to see me running around screaming trying to escape from a big scary man trying to crush me in the ring???? Exactly my point. I'd be great. Well at the very least highly entertaining. I am getting distracted again. I was talking about babysitting. I have been loving it.
Anyways, that's been my summer so far. I'd better finish this blog post now so I can hurry up and see how much trouble I can pack into the rest of the summer before it evades me!!
Sounds like a crazy fun packed summer! Me, I can't wait for the summer to end so I can get to school and start my school work. Call me a nerd, but I don't care. :) It really does sound like you've been having fun though. Can't wait to read your next blog!

ReplyDeleteI love live orchestra! Every year by the Bay the orchestra in Erie plays the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky and have a live cannon salute =)
